Visas and Immigration
IMPORTANT: Please note that visas for visits to Australia are the responsibility of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). There are no DIAC representatives currently working at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm. Enquiries about all types of visas (except for diplomatic visas) should be directed to DIAC in Berlin. Immigration issues, including citizenship enquiries, should also be directed to DIAC in Berlin.
Visiting Australia
All travelers to Australia (Except Australian and New Zealand citizens) need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). The ETA is now available to passport holders from over 30 nationalities and is issued within seconds by computer links to Australia.
Citizens of Sweden and Finland
If you are visiting Australia for tourism or business and will stay for less than three months, you can obtain your ETA on the spot from your travel agent or through the Internet. Apply online.
If you would like to study in Australia and you are a citizen of Sweden or Finland, you can apply for your student visa online. Apply online.
If you would like to apply for a Working Holiday Maker Visa you can make an application online. Apply online.

Citizens of Estonia Latvia and Lithuania
As of 1 July 2004 citizens of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania can apply for a visitor visa through the Australian Embassy in Berlin or apply for an e676 Visa, through your travel agent or via the internet. Apply online.
Citizens of Estonia can also apply for a Working Holiday Maker visa online. Apply online.
